PSX: KSE-100 sheds nearly 1,500 points as situation remains tense in ME

Selling pressure was observed at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) after new Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia and Iranian attacks on ships in the Gulf, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index shedding nearly 1,500 points during the opening minutes of trading on Monday. At 9:40am, the benchmark index was hovering at 169,030.57, down by 1,481.28 points or 0.87%. Selling was observed in key sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs and power generation.
