PQA helps berthing vessel after it develops faults
KARACHI: Port Qasim Authority (PQA) on Monday safely navigated and berthed the bulk carrier MV Chang Chang Nan Hai at the Pakistan International Bulk Terminal (PIBT) after the vessel underwent technical repairs at anchorage. According to the PQA, the 199.98-metre carrier, loaded with over 57,000 metric tons of coal at an arrival draft of 13.00 metres, had its initial berthing attempt aborted after officials detected a defect in the ship’s steering gear and rudder system.
