M.Phil allowance extended to equivalent degrees
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has extended the Rs2,500 per month M Phil allowance to employees holding degrees declared equivalent to M Phil by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), with effect from July 17, 2026. According to a Finance Division office memorandum, the benefit, previously restricted to holders of HEC-recognised M Phil degrees, will now also be available to employees possessing an equivalent qualification recognised by HEC, subject to production of an equivalence certificate.
