India's net direct tax collections rise 13% from April 1-Sept 17

NEW DELHI: India’s net direct tax collections rose 13% year-on-year to 12.1 trillion rupees ($126.28 billion) between April 1 and September 17, the country’s tax department said in a statement on Friday. India likely to discuss second half borrowing on Sept. 25, sources say Direct tax collections, which include corporate and income tax, rose over 15% year-on-year on gross basis to 14.3 trillion rupees ($149.24 billion) during the same period, the department said.
