Environmental performance index: Pakistan climbs 22 places
LAHORE: Pakistan has moved up 22 places in the latest Environmental Performance Index (EPI), improving from 179th in 2024 to 157th in the 2026 global ranking while India is placed at 176th among 177 countries assessed in the latest index, according to the Yale Center for Environmental Law & Policy. Pakistan recorded an EPI score of 29.03 in the 2026 assessment, compared with 22.46 for India.
