India soyoil imports to rise to record high on price competitiveness
MUMBAI: India’s soyoil imports are likely to surge to a record high in the 2025/26 marketing year as rallies in rival palm and sunflower oils make soyoil more competitive for price-sensitive Indian buyers, industry officials told Reuters. Higher soyoil imports would offset a decline in sunflower oil shipments due to the Russia-Ukraine war and limit purchases of palm oil, which typically accounts for the bulk of India’s edible oil imports, they said.
