US hurricane center says 70% chance of cyclone formation in the next 48 hours off Cape Verde
A broad area of low pressure located a few hundred miles south-southeast of the Cape Verde Islands has a 70% chance of cyclone formation in the next 48 hours, the US National Hurricane Center said in an advisory on Thursday. “This system could become a short-lived tropical depression or a tropical storm later today or on Friday while it moves northwestward to northward,” the NHC added.
